Thursday, October 26th

Thursday Morning:
Plans to work outside today are put on hold because it is still raining like crazy here. I’m hoping to get outside to pick tomatoes before they split from the rain – and before the freeze that is coming tonight.

I will be working on the seasonal storage and decorations and setting up a different system that should be easier to work with. Thursdays are also the day that I clean up the back hall and gather all the trash and recycling to put out on Friday morning.  Knowing that temperatures are supposed to be in the 30’s and 40’s the next few nights, we will get the fire starter, kindling and wood ready for fires. Finally!

Thursday Evening:
It poured all day today. When the rain finally stopped at 5:00, I went out and gathered the red cherry tomatoes and as many of the green as I could. There will probably be a frost tonight, so this may be the last of them.  Lots to pickle, and possibly one more batch to freeze.

Cleaned up the wood stove and we are ready for normal October weather to arrive. Looking forward to working outside tomorrow.
