New Raised Garden Beds

Dumpster

The dumpster arrived and the cleanup began. We cleaned out all of the corners of the garden, the house, the shed and filled the dumpster.

So organized!

We dismantled the herb spiral and the two garden beds that were broken and replaced the beds. We lifted all the pavers that were in single paths and made them double wide. We also put down a heavy landscaping fabric to prevent the grass from growing through.

We are continuing to work on the garden paths and installed a new lower raised bed near the hazelnut that will be a pumpkin patch this year.  We removed several plants that were not working out and will be moving more around in the coming week.

I zip-tied our firewood pallets against the chain link fence for a quick temporary privacy screen and the yearly moving of bark mulch out to under the trees will begin shortly.  There are some additions and surprises planned and quite a bit of work left for us to do.  A little at a time, a task at a time, it all gets finished.

Time in the sun and day by day watching our little garden forest emerge make this the kind of work that strengthens us as we work together.
