Church Street, Burlington, VT
It’s October 2nd, around 7:30pm. It’s dark outside and cold. We will probably need to light our wood stove in the morning because it’s only 62 degrees in here and only going to be around 48 degrees tomorrow!
I really love this time of year – when the heat of summer goes away and the garden work outside slows down. It is usually a time of preparation for the winter and the coming year, of creativity, and awakenings of a sort.
I am sitting on the couch watching Ancient Aliens. As I snuggle in under an afghan in my fleece pajamas with a glass of wine, I am reflecting on summer and my state of mind over the past few months.
It has been difficult. It has been challenging.
I haven’t really written or created anything for many months.
But, I am coming out of it.
Summer consisted of getting a new job, many garden and herbalist experiments, great fun with family and friends and lots of gaming and movies!
We spent a week in Burlington, VT for our 20th Anniversary and, for me this was a turning point. Sitting in the Williard Street Inn, looking out over Burlington and Lake Champlain, I started thinking of what I really want for my life. So, this is a relaunch of this blog and website. There are many ideas and stories I would like to share about living in the city and striving to live sustainably.
I do not have a FaceBook page. I can also be found on

Until next time,
