Indoor Garden Party

There’s a strange thing that happens when I say I want to live to be 120 or more…

Many people are appalled by the idea. Will 80 years be enough? Or some other arbitrary number be adequate? Although my hope is that I will have loved ones around me, I understand that I may outlive most everyone I know. But, I hope for 120 years anyway. There are so many things that I still want to do.

This is on my mind more than ever since I just celebrated my 50th birthday with an indoor garden party. It was one of the best days of my life. Being surrounded by most of my family and friends was super encouraging. Half a century! Wow! But so much of life is left.

For a little while, I lost this perspective and had been just doing the grind, not paying attention to what matters most and not living the healthiest physical, mental and emotional life possible. If my focus is to live to at least 120, I need to hold that idea in my mind and align the rest of my life accordingly.

I’ll be honest – I’m not exactly sure what the future holds, but I know I am moving in a new direction. I can feel the change happening.

I am fortunate to have a loving husband, son and daughter that bring so much joy into my life; five sisters that are always ready for some kind of adventure; and more extended family and friends – super talented, giving, amazing people – than anyone really deserves. With this foundation, I believe anything is possible.

So with that in mind, I am starting today with a relaunch of sorts of this website with these goals at the core: to spend my time doing things that bring joy to life, always be learning something new and striving to be as healthy as possible.

Ultimately, looking for adventures in everyday life.
